Why buy a mechanical Russian watch?

Buying over the Internet

A friend of mine recently got me interested in Russian watches. I soon decided to buy one for myself (well, my Lada Samara isn't equipped with a clock, so why not get a Russian watch to go with my Russian car?!).

I got a very stylish Vostok Century Time from Russia2All, who seemed to have the best prices and a very good range. But within a day or two their web site announced that they were closing down, and reducing prices - so I bought another.
I had them sent from Russia2All (in Utah) first to my brother in Minneapolis, then he sent them to me in Australia.

Although this craze of mine is recent, I seem to have had a similar craze more than 10 years ago, because lying neglected in a drawer I remembered I had 3 East German wind-up watches and 2 Russian quartz watches.

Presented on these pages are my small collection, plus a few others I have come into contact with, and a couple I hope to purchase.
